Fine Georgian Oak Lowboy with Cabriole Legs.

Ref: 228. £675.00.

Beautiful lines to this piece. My photos don't do it justice.

A moulded top with stringing, above three moulded and strung drawers. Shaped kneehole freize and shaped sided.

All supported by cabriole legs with pad feet.

A stunning Lowboy.

The top has some stains, probably ink, with sun fading to the front.  All genuine wear as would be expected of an item of this age. We didn’t want to over restore the top but have left the condition to show it’s history.

The brass handles are possibly later replacements due to being fitted with bolts, but the style is contemporary to the piece.

Wax finish. Some signs of long dead historical woodworm.

Approx Sizes: 31.5” Wide; 19.5” Deep; 27" High.

Pair High Panelled Back Hall Chairs C1700/1790

Ref 216. £150.00.

Lovely to find a pair...But...

The left hand chair (as shown) is the earlier chair, the right hand one is an excellent copy made an estimated 100 years later, the only real difference is the condition.

And now to the condition of the earlier chair!

It has had numerous repairs, and has historically had bearers put to the back of the outside frames (see images below) making it VERY stable for use.

Some shrinkage to panels in both backs. All joints pegged.

Please do look carefully at all of the detailed images and ask me if you have any questions.

Some evidence of long dead historic woodworm.

Low Windsor Chair Ref 297 £160.00

Early 20th Century.

Typical Windor chair with shaped back splat.

When the hooped top was bent around it split on both sides, not age related damage as it occurred at the time of making.

The splits do not go through the hoop, so it is sound.

The legs have been cut down at some time so the seat is a little low.

These turned legs are united with a crinoline stretcher.

Gorgeous waxd colour. Slight signs of long dead woodworm.

Approx Sizes: 40” High; 21.5” Wide (max); Seat height 14”.

Georgian oak octagonal tripod table the antiques source ba14 6hh

Oak Octagonal Tripod Tilt Top Table. Ref. 183. £145.00

Georgian octagonal table.  Original brass tilt mechanism. There is metalwork below the three legs where they unite to the finely turned boss, this is to add strength where historic breaks have occurred. Please see the detailed images, I have highlighted the repairs and they actually look worse on the images than seeing the table “in the flesh”.

2 feet have glides added to adjust the slight lean.
The block above the turned boss has had a thin piece of wood added as “padding” to ensure the mechanism locks tightly in place.

Beautiful colour and patina. Wax finish.

Some sign of long dead historic woodworm.

Approx. Sizes: Top 25.5” min / 27.5” max; Height 28.5”.
