Starting today we are now in the 2 1st Century and going backwards:-
20th C. = 1900 – 1999; 19th C. = 1800 – 1899; 18th C. = 1700 – 1799;
17th C. = 1600 – 1699; 16th C. = 1500 – 1599 and so on.
