Set of 11 "Real Life of London" Hand Coloured Etchings.

Ref 247.  £700.00 


These caricatures are original plates hand coloured with aquatint.

Originating from Volume 2 of "Real Life in London” or

“The Rambles of Bob Tallyho, Esq. and his Cousin the Hon. Tom Dashall through the Metropolis London”. 
 
“Exhibiting a Living Picture of Fashionable Characters, Manners, and Amusements in High and Low Life”.

 
London: Jones & Co., 1821. 


The engravers associated with these prints are: William Heath, Henry Thomas Alken, Dighton, William Henry Brooke and Thomas Rowlandson.


11 in all including the title page.


The condition is very good considering their age.


I have had them mounted in a Georgian green and framed in gilt frames with a light green wash which has been rubbed, to reveal some slight signs of the red undercoat.

Some water marks to mounts and some foxing.

Small amont of chips to the frames.

Very Decorative.


Slight difference in size but display together well.
